The role of the nurse in the prevention of problems of the feet in the elderly is discussed, and the common foot problems that could be caused by negligence and ignorance are referred to. Routine foot care including care of the skin, nails, choice of shoes and massaging of the feet is discussed, and exercises that the elderly can do to prevent foot problems are illustrated.
