The child is a complete person but has a need for others in order to develop his full potential. The adult is responsible for providing a safe environment in which the child can develop socially, spiritually, psychologically and somatically. The child is continually occupied with realising himself as a person and this is only possible if there is a relationship of trust between the child and the adult.
