Abstract

In the light of research reports it appears that diabetes mellitus is everywhere on the increase, and this fact gives cause for concern. The degree of success attained in the treatment of these patients depends largely on their co-operation and this in turn depends on the diabetic’s knowledge of his sickness, possible complications and treatment and this knowledge must be transmitted by means of education by health personnel.
